Ancient Napata & Meroe
Day 1: Khartoum
Depart overseas and late arrival to Khartoum International airport, meet our representative employee and transfer to your hotel Khartoum Plaza 3 stars hotel.” You can choose any hotel instead of Khartoum Plaza” if you want.
Day 2 : Khartoum – Omdurman
City tour of Khartoum and Omdurman.
The part of Khartoum city tour including a visit to:
Sudan National museum contains different objects dedicated to Nubia history in addition to the beautiful temples saved by UNESCO from lake Nassir and rebuilt inside the museum
Ethnographic museum to see the variation of the tribal community so Sudan and style of life.
Palace museum located in a beautiful disused Anglican church, the museum recounts, with strong illustrations, portraits, and comments, the road traveled by Sudan from foreign invasions and the struggle for independence to the present. A lot of space is devoted to the objects relating to the supreme function, especially the gifts offered to the various presidents. The museum also exhibits a small collection of presidential cars, especially Rolls, used on major occasions such as reception of foreign heads of state or national festivals.
Kitchener boat: General Kitchener’s boat “the Melik”,Circa 19th century, And now, (Is beached on the grounds of the Blue Nile Sailing Club)
Visit confluence of two Niles (Blue & White Nile).
Visit Tuti Island if you have time to enjoy drinking tea with peppermint or coffee with ginger.
You will stop to enjoy your lunch after that proceed with your Omdurman city tour part including:
Khalifa’s house museum.
Mehdi tomb.
The old Suq (market) of Omdurman.
Hamed Al-Nil the dancing and chanting dervishes only on Friday.
Or the traditional Nuba wrestling only on Friday. So on Friday you should choose only one event because Nuba wrestling is on the Eastern edge of Khartoum, and Hamed Al-Nil is on the Western edge of Khartoum.
In the evening return to the hotel.
Day 3 : Naqa – Mussawarat – Meroe
Early in the morning after you had your breakfast drive about 160km, to the ancient cultic center of Naqa with the Meroitic temple of Amun, Meroitic-Roman chapel, and the lion temple (Apedemak). Proceed to Mussawarat es – Sufra 20km an extensive temple area with rare elephant depictions (you will stop on the way to have your lunch). Afterwards continue to the small town of Shendi 80km and onwards 40km to Meroe. Visit the largest pyramids cemetery of the Nile valley – dozens of black pyramids rise from the desert sands. Overnight at your camp to enjoy the sky & stars. (There is a choice of booking a hotel in Meroe if you want).
Day 4: Meroe – Damer – Bayouda desert – Karima
Early morning opportunity to enjoy sunrise and take a photograph of the pyramids. Then drive to El Damer 100km crossing the Nile to Umm Al-Tuyur on the way west bank, crossing Bayouda desert (you will stop on the way to have your lunch) then drive to Nuri 25km to visit the cemetery containing the pyramids of the 25th dynasty, among them that of pharaoh Taharqa. Crossing the Nile to climb up Jebel Barkal and enjoy the sunset from the top of the holy mountain. Overnight in Karima at Nubian traditional house. (There is a choice of booking a hotel in Karima if you want).
Day 5: Karima
Visit the necropolis of El-Kurru 18km the subterranean tomb of king Tanutamani is decorated in the classical paranoiac style. Drive to Jebel Barkal 18km ascent to Jebel Barkal and afterward visit the great Amun of Napata temple dating back to the 12th century B.C. The temple was the most important religious center of Kush, overnight at Nubian traditional house.
Day 6: Old Dongola
Visit Old Dongola once the Christian capital of the Nubian Kingdom Makuria and later a major Islamic city. Afterwards drive to Karima for overnight at a Nubian traditional house.
Day 7: Khartoum
Drive back to Khartoum, and then transfer to the airport for an evening departure.

9/ Meals in Khartoum based on B.B (Bed and Breakfast only). Outside Khartoum, meals are full board. (Breakfast- Lunch- Dinner) with fruit, soft drinks, and hot drinks.
